Geoff Wood is building coworking spaces and entrepreneurial communities from Des Moines.
Geoff is alive and well in Windsor Heights, a small suburb immediately west of Des Moines. He’s a small business owner, startup community builder, and sidewalk advocate.
He is passionate about the Iowa State University Cyclones and the Minnesota Vikings. Both have caused him much anguish throughout his lifetime.
He walks his dog daily, does his best to avoid carbs and knows the difference between CST and CDT.

Geoff Wood is the founder of Gravitate Coworking, a workplace community for entrepreneurs, freelancers and remote workers in Des Moines, Windsor Heights, Jefferson, and Cedar Falls, Iowa. As part of his role as a community builder, he’s the publisher of entrepreneurial news blog Clay & Milk and a frequent conference speaker and event organizer. He’s been helping share the story of—and discuss the issues in—the Iowa entrepreneurial community since 2009.
Geoff earned his undergraduate degree in Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University and his MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He is a graduate of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute and the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.
