After nearly 4 years, 7 Big Series events and 476 blog posts, my time with Silicon Prairie News will be coming to an end July 5.
It’s a sad day and one that I didn’t think would come anytime soon. However, after the company announced a new CEO on June 14 it wasn’t unexpected. When a new leader takes over an organization it’s natural to change some things up, and in this case my role as the company’s COO is one of them. To be clear, SPN isn’t forcing me to leave. Rather, my box on the new org chart just isn’t something that I can be passionate about in the way that I‘ve been passionate about building the company the last several years. I am disappointed that I won’t be part of the team as my community hosts the Silicon Prairie Awards and Big Des Moines this year (I did offer to stay on through the fall but I understand the company’s desire to move on right now).
