I went to my second NBA game tonight as part of the Iowa State night at the Indiana Pacers. It was put on by the ISU Alumni Association in association with Mike Dubes (ISU alumnus and president of Conseco Insurance Group) and the Indianapolis ISU Alumni Club.
The night started with a pre-game reception, then continued on at Conseco Fieldhouse where we had tickets in the second row of the club level. Each section in the club level has its own waitress, so you don't need to leave your seat for much of anything.
After the game we rendezvoused with the rest of the 50 plus Iowa Staters for a meet and greet with ISU alumnus/injured Pacer guard Jamaal Tinsley. Tinsley shook hands, signed stuff (posters, ticket stubs, hats, t-shirts, jerseys and the like), laughed at bad jokes, and took pictures with the each every person. Afterwards he went with Pacers staff down the tunnel and returned with a stack of t-shirts. He then went out of his way and handed a shirt out to each person. He certainly did not need to be so accomodating or personal but it was neat that he took the time.
